History & Vision
The Foot Klan Dance Troupe has been providing entertainment around the world for more than 17 years and is Arizona’s original hip hop group. This full-service group includes professional dancers, DJs, film extras, actors, models, up-and-coming rappers and singing artists. Foot Klan is a multi-member dance troupe that includes Mr. and Miss Soul Train Darryl Khalid and Luciana Khalid, who have studied the original styles of Hip Hop dance including “popping,” “locking,” “break dancing” and “House.”

Foot Klan’s mission is to unify communities through street dance and creative arts. By removing the negative stereotypes from the Hip Hop culture, Foot Klan can begin to heal the scars of racism, sexism and all discrimination and the social wounds of the world. Through a worldwide reconstruction of the present interpretations of Hip Hop, Foot Klan is generating a higher awareness of the impact that positive creativity has on an artistically aspiring community. The renaissance of Hip Hop is finally coming full circle, brought about by a much-needed change.

DARRYL KHALID - DIRECTOR AND CHOREOGRAPHER

It takes a strong, talented leader to manage and direct the efforts of this energetic dance machine known as the Foot Klan. Darryl Khalid currently holds the title of Mr. Soul Train and has studied the old school Hip Hop dance styles since the age of six. He currently oversees the Hip Hop dance instruction at Scottsdale Community College and previously taught at Arizona State University. Darryl is also a world-renown seven-time World champion fighter, dance performer and professional choreographer.

LUCIANA KHALID – ASSISTANT CHOREOGRAPHER

To win national awards in both fitness and Hip Hop dance takes amazing skill, but that is exactly what Luciana Khalid brings to Foot Klan. Luciana holds the title of Miss Soul Train, and has been teaching dance and fitness for 20 years and a fitness trainer for 10 years. She was the 2000 Hip Hop Female of the Year at the Hip Hop Dance Awards, and was Miss Fitness Arizona from 1998 through 2000. Additionally, she took 3rd Place in the NPC National Body and Fitness Competition in NYC. Luciana is also an actor and model, having been seen in commercials, videos and more.

   KASIEM KHALID, SENIOR MEMBER

Kasiem Khalid has mastered the Afro-Brazilian art know as Capoeira. His fusion of the art with Hip Hop won him the title of “B-Boy Champion” in 1999 at the American Street Dance Competition. Kasiem’s talent beyond being one of the best in the world is his ability to teach kids how to dance, having worked with hundreds of kids through Khalid’s Martial Arts Studio for more than 15 years. He is also training to break the world record for head spins. One more thing… that silhouette on the Foot Klan logo is Kasiem in a signature pose.
